Basisschool De Hoeksteen is a private primary and lower secondary school that offers education from preschool to the tenth grade. Located at Keizerstraat 114 in the heart of Paramaribo, the school provides a high-quality, structured learning environment for up to 400 students.

Our school combines qualitative and practical educational goals of the Netherlands and the learning and lesson programs of the Ministry of Education, Science and Culture (MinOWC) and uses them as a guideline for all its educational activities in order to provide fundamental basic elements to our students.

At De Hoeksteen, children learn to discover their talents in a challenging and meaningful environment. The children feel seen and supported and know that the teachers are there for them. With attention to personal leadership, we teach the children to think in terms of problem solving and to work together. The teachers know what is going on in each group and what the children are concerned with. They follow all developments closely and together create a good place for each child, where he or she counts and learns to get the best out of themselves.
